# 9.11 Scope of subpart.

This subpart prescribes procedures for making Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or Commission) agency records available to the public for inspection and copying pursuant to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) (5 U.S.C. 552) and provides notice of procedures for obtaining NRC records otherwise publicly available. This subpart should be read in conjunction with the text of the FOIA and the Uniform Freedom of Information Fee Schedule and Guidelines published by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB Guidelines). Requests made by individuals for records about themselves under the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. 552a) are processed in accordance with NRC's Privacy Act regulations at subpart B of this part. This subpart does not affect the dissemination or distribution of NRC-originated, or NRC contractor-originated, information to the public under any other NRC public, technical, or other information program or policy.
