This notice announces a meeting of the Fusion Energy Sciences Advisory Committee. The Federal Advisory Committee Act (Pub. L. 92-463, 86 Stat. 770) requires that public notice of these meetings be announced in the *Federal Register* .

Wednesday, February 27, 2002, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday, February 28, 2002, 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

**SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:**
*Purpose of the Meeting:* The main purpose of this meeting is to brief the members of the committee on the preparations for and planning of the Fusion Energy Sciences Summer Workshop. The technical information developed at the workshop will be used by the Committee as input in completing its next charge from the Department of Energy (DOE).

You must make your request for an oral statement at least 5 business days before the meeting. Reasonable provision will be made to include the scheduled oral statements on the agenda.
