This notice is provided pursuant to Section 10(c) of the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended (16 U.S.C. 1531 *et seq.* ). The applicant requests a permit to import blood samples of Bornean orangutans ( *Pongo pygmaeus* ) from Canada for the purpose of scientific research on the incidence of disease in captive-held orangutans in an Indonesian orangutan rehabilitation center. This notification covers a one-time import.
