# § 9801. Appropriate congressional committees defined

In this chapter:

**(1)** **Appropriate congressional committees** The term “appropriate congressional committees” means—

**(A)** the Committee on Foreign Relations and the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate; and

**(B)** the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives.

**1** **Relevant Federal department or agency** [^1]

The term “relevant Federal department or agency” means the Department of State, the United States Agency for International Development, the Department of Defense, the Department of  Treasury, and any other Federal department or agency the President determines is relevant to carry out the purposes of this chapter.

So in original. Probably should be followed by “the”.
