# § 2330b. Fish hatcheries
**(a)** **In general** 16 U.S.C. 1531
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary may operate a fish hatchery for the purpose of restoring a population of fish species located in the region surrounding the fish hatchery that is listed as a threatened species or an endangered species under the Endangered Species Act of 1973 ( et seq.) or a similar State law.
**(b)** **Costs** December 16, 2016
A non-Federal entity, another Federal agency, or a group of non-Federal entities or other Federal agencies shall be responsible for 100 percent of the additional costs associated with managing a fish hatchery for the purpose described in subsection (a) that are not authorized as of , for the fish hatchery.
